The “ best” coaches are the “best” communicators .. it is very foolish to consider that achievement of Olympic standards are the only measure of success .. they are one measure of success, but the most significant contribution a coach can make is to enhance the life experience of their swimmer.
Swimming may be / can be part of life, but it is far from the only thing of significance .. explore the possibilities that sport offers to enhance your life .. but, be the best you can be .. develop and refine your skills .. then, move on to the rest of your life armed with the lessons/skills sports involvement (your pursuit of personal excellence) has taught. (The struggle teaches—the destination is but a reward).
