Wayne Goldsmith Visit

One of Australia leading sporting coach consultants spent a great night on pool deck in May.
Wayne travels the world and consults to all sporting codes including AFL, Cricket, Tennis Australia and Horse Racing, but his biggest contribution has been in the field of swimming. We were privileged to have him share his knowledge and was a great inspiration.
Here was Gillian's comment...
Hi team! Anita, thanks so much for organising the session with Wayne last night - no wonder it was such a bun-fight for a park at Melbourne High! Wayne suggested we post our key lessons from last night onto our facebook page, so here goes. For me, the best lesson was SOFT HANDS. These two words go beyond the literal meaning: They represent relaxation both physically and mentally. When I think about my best performances, I’ve been really happy in the environment – from sitting in the stands, to marshalling, to the starting blocks, to the end of the race. I’ve had just the right amount of positive nerves and felt really calm and centered. I’ve been ready to race without fear. So for me, SOFT HANDS represents all of these things, and I’m looking forward to using those words as my triggers in training and racing so I can get back into that state of mindful, centered relaxation. Thanks again for a really valuable session!
Wayne has a GREAT website that I urge you to visit whether you are a parent, swimmer or coach, there is a wealth of information. The Swim Coaching Brain
