Swimming Victoria Competitions
It is important to know that there are many swimming competitions (meets) offered through Swimming Victoria that registered MH2O club members may compete in. There is usually one or two, sometimes more, every weekend throughout the year. However, in the interests of keeping racing fresh and exciting, we don't usually recommend more than 3 meets a term.
If you miss one of our targeted meets you are welcome to enter others that can be found at http://vic.swimming.org.au/calendar.html
MH2O coaches choose from amongst the meets, those which are considered most important and relevant. There will nearly always be an MH2O coach at these targeted meets to help provide guidance to first time competitors, as well as assist swimmers to warm-up correctly and thoroughly, revise race strategy, discuss tactics and offer advice. There may be different meets targeted for different squads.
Please check the Squad FIXTURE LIST regularly, as well as with your coach for the meets which have been targeted specifically for your squad. These are always emailed to you first.
All squad swimmers are expected to compete even if it is only for our intra club events, but are also encouraged to compete at as many targeted meets as possible. Make sure you get your entries in well ahead of the closing date as many book out up to 2 weeks ahead of the closing date.
Swimmers and parents alike are advised to read the competition hints which details competition procedures and expectations at meets. Please take a moment to look at these competition hints.
Swimmers are expected to wear full club uniforms at all meets (Hoody, t-shirt, warmup bathers and cap), arrive in good time to warm up and sit together and support their fellow team mates. Parents are also encouraged to wear our club T-shirt or polo shirt.
